MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Penny Hardaway continues to add talent to his roster for 2024-2025. Late Wednesday night, the Memphis picked up a commitment from Portuguese national Daniel Vieira Tuck.
Vieira Tuck, a 6'3" 19 year old guard, played prep ball at Mansfield Timberview High School in Arlington, Tx, followed by time at Fairmont Sports Academy in Florida.
He is also a reserve guard for Benfica in the Lisbon-based Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol. Most recently, he's spent time playing FIBA with the under 20 Portuguese national team.
In four games at the U20 European Championship, Vieira Tuck averaged 14.5 points, 2 rebounds and an assist.
Vieira Tuck joins what is already a talented backcourt of transfer guards, including PJ Haggerty, Tyrese Hunter, Baraka Okojie, Colby Rogers and incoming freshman Jared Harris. He now makes up a Tigers roster of 10 players that also includes frontcourt players Dain Dainja, Nicholas Jourdain, Moussa Cisse and Tyreek Smith.
Tigers fans were holding out hope that former All-American honorable mention David Jones would make a return to Memphis, but Jones opted to keep his name in the 2024 NBA Draft.
