MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Tigers forward Ashton Hardaway, son of head coach Penny Hardaway, is entering the transfer portal, according to Joe Tipton with On3 Sports.
The 6'8", 210 lbs. freshman appeared in 29 games for the Tigers basketball team in 2023-24, starting three times. A 4-star recruit from Sierra Canyon, California, he had between 10 and 20 minutes of playing time per game, but that dropped to just over 5 minutes average in the last 22 games.
Hardaway is the latest Tiger to enter the transfer portal, along with forward Jonathan Pierre and guards Jayhlon Young and Carl Cherenfant.
This week, the Tigers got commitments from transfer guard PJ Haggerty and transfer Dain Dainja, and they signed guard Jared Harris in November.
