Memphis 901 FC's Neco Brett out for the season

Forward Neco Brett underwent shoulder surgery and is likely to miss the remainder of the 2024 season.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis 901 FC forward Neco Brett has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on Wednesday, May 1.

The surgery successfully repaired his right shoulder and means he will likely miss the remainder of the 2024 season as the recovery time is estimated at six months.

Brett joined 901 FC in the offseason and was meant to add a spark to the front third, but instead he only managed to play four games and 177 minutes before injuring the shoulder.

Brett ranks second on the USL Championship All-Time Goal Scorer list with 86 goals in over 200 career appearances.

901 FC will take to the field without Brett this Saturday when they host the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Star Wars Day at AutoZone Park, with kickoff at 3 p.m.

The Beale Street Boys are coming off a 3-0 win over Birmingham on Saturday. The win snapped a five-game losing streak in league play and marked their first clean sheet of the season.
