34th Southern Heritage Classic tickets available now

This year's classic will be the first matchup between the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff and Tennessee State University.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Tickets to the 34th Annual Southern Heritage Classic go on sale Friday, Feb. 3, as the city prepares to host the first match up between University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) and Tennessee State University (TSU).

Throughout previous years, Jackson State University and TSU, went head to head competing in the historical game. Both universities Competed against each other in a final match up at last year's game.

The classic founder, Fred Jones, said he is excited to continue the classic's legacy with a fresh start and in a new way.

 “The Classic has a strong legacy and this year, we’re writing a new chapter and making new memories. It’s always a good time when Tennessee State comes to town and I’m glad that Arkansas-Pine Bluff decided to join the festivities," Jones said. "We invite everyone to attend and enjoy all the events that make Classic Weekend one of the best in Memphis. Get ready for some great football!”  

Fans rave year to year about the halftime battle between university bands, and this year is expected to be no different. 

The AutoZone halftime show will feature the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Marching Musical Machine of the Mid-South (M4) and the Tennessee State Aristocrat of Bands. there will also be a Classic 5th quarter show, where the bands will face off once more before closing the night.

The football game is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 9. It will be held at the Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, staying true to tradition.
