MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Traffic is now re-opened on Austin Peay Hwy. after a deadly early morning accident involving a tractor trailer.
Memphis Police Department said officers responded to the crash around 3:21 a.m. at Austin Peay and Joslyn, just north of Yale. Memphis Police said one person died at the scene.
All lanes of Austin Peay were blocked, but have since re-opened.
Just a few hours later at about 6:30 a.m. while officers were working to clear the car accident involving the 18-wheeler, MPD was called about a pedestrian hit by a car by Methodist North Hospital in the 3900 block of New Covington Pike. Investigators said that person also died at the scene.
Police have not said what led to either crash or if anyone faces charges.
The investigations are ongoing.
