DESOTO COUNTY, Miss — A part of Highway 78 is closed Monday morning after a crash happened in DeSoto County.
The crash happened Sunday evening near Red Banks Road, and all westbound lanes heading toward Memphis have been closed on Highway 78 between Red Banks Road and Hacks Cross Road.
A spokesperson with the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office said they received a call around 7:30 p.m. about the crash. A semi-truck carrying rolls of paper ran off the highway and its 53-foot trailer wrapped around several trees. Crews are working to unload the trailer and remove it. The driver only had minor injuries.
Traffic is being directed to use the exit at Red Banks to get on Old Highway 78.
