MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Tennessee transportation officials are stressing the importance of watching out for work crews on the highway after equipment was struck by a driver near the I-55 and US412 interchange.
Crews were patching potholes in Dyer County in this area when a citizen's vehicle hit an attenuator in this area, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).
Tennessee has a "Move Over law" that requires oncoming drivers to get out of the way when they come up on an emergency on the shoulder of a highway. The penalty for violating the law is a fine of up to $500 and up to 30 days in jail.
