HELENA-WEST HELENA, Ark. — A crash is blocking traffic on Highway 49 near the Helena Bridge Monday morning.
Helena-West Helena police confirmed the crash, but said they are still investigating what caused the incident. We do not know if anyone was injured.
A Mississippi traffic camera is showing lanes heading in both directions not moving.
Dense fog settled into the Mississippi Delta and the area surrounding the Helena-West Helena bridge overnight.
Since temperatures are below freezing and fog is made up of water droplets, freezing fog could have led to patches of ice along the bridge. It's unclear if that was the cause of the crash.
