Man killed in Tuesday evening shooting on I-240 near Poplar Ave.

The Memphis Police Department said they are investigating a shooting on the interstate.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is dead after a shooting took place on I-240 near Poplar on Tuesday evening.

The Memphis Police Department responded to the shooting May 28, 2024, around 8 p.m. on I-240 westbound near Poplar.

A man who was shot was taken to Regional One Health in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

All westbound lanes were shut down for some time, but have since reopened.
