MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people are dead, and four others are injured after a multi-vehicle crash happened near the Memphis airport and blocked traffic early Thursday morning.
The Memphis Police Department responded to the crash April 4 around 12:30 a.m. at East Shelby Drive and Swinnea Road. Investigators said two people were pronounced dead at the scene.
A man and woman were taken to Regional One Health in critical condition. Another woman was taken to the same hospital in non-critical condition, and another man was taken to the Methodist University hospital in non-critical condition.
Police are asking drivers to avoid the area and use a different route.
