MEMPHIS, Tenn — One person has died and another was critically injured after two separate crashes Thursday along I-240 in midtown.
The latest crash happened about 2:10 p.m. along I-240 north near Union Ave. Memphis Police said two vehicles were involved and one person died at the scene.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) said northbound lanes on I-240 are blocked. MPD is asking drivers to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
Earlier Thursday, about 12:45 p.m., MPD said a four-vehicle crash happened at I-240 north near Jackson Ave., blocking northbound lanes. One person was taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.
