MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The City of Memphis announced Thursday Riverside Drive will reopen to traffic between Union Ave. and Georgia Ave. starting Monday, but it will remain closed in that same stretch on weekends.
Riverside will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2023. The City said the road running along the newly revamped Tom Lee park will stay open from 5 a.m. on Mondays until 7 p.m. on Fridays.
Then, from 7 p.m. on Fridays until 5 a.m. on Mondays, the road will be closed between Union Ave. and Georgia Ave.
There will be designated free two-hour street parking on Riverside for Tome Lee Park visitors at the following times:
- Mondays – Thursdays: 5 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Fridays: 5 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- No on-street or overnight parking will be allowed from 8 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The city said Memphis Police will enforce the street closures with barriers, which are illegal to remove.
