TDOT crews repave stretch of I-40 E near Sycamore View

Three weeks later, TDOT is repaving the road they stripped on I-40 after January's ice storm.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — On Tuesday, Feb. 20, TDOT began to repave a stretch of stripped pavement on I-40 E after weeks of the road causing issues for drivers.

TDOT stripped the pavement on I-40 after January's ice storm caused several potholes. Since then, drivers were frustrated with the roadwork causing cars to kick up rocks, potentially cracking the windshield of the car behind them.

Three weeks later, TDOT crews are finally repaving the road. It is unclear how long these repairs will take.

If this route is part of your daily commute, expect some delays in the coming days.

If your car windshield is damaged by rocks flying from unrepaired roads, you can file a claim with the state online to get reimbursed for at least some of your expenses.
