First responders asking for donations for Hurricane Helene relief

Six drop-off locations for goods were announced by area law enforcement agencies.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — As Hurricane Milton approaches Florida, area law enforcement agencies are asking for donations to be submitted to help East Tennessee residents recover from Hurricane Helene.

Officials are asking for things such as flashlights, batteries, baby items, empty gas cans, cleaning products, hygiene products and medical supplies.

Items need to be new and unopened to be accepted, and clothing is not being asked for at this time. 

There are six drop-off locations throughout the area, including:

Donations can be dropped off until Oct. 11, 2024 from 8-4 p.m.
