MEMPHIS, Tenn. — U-Haul stores across Southeastern United States are offering free 30-day storage in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene for people impacted by the storm.
U-Haul regional offices in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Kentucky are joining Florida, Georgia and Alabama locations in extending free self-storage or U-Box portable container usage to those lacking a safe place to store belongings during the storm clean-up.
The company said 437 stores are now giving disaster relief: 136 in Florida; 79 in Georgia; 50 in North Carolina; 48 in Tennessee; 35 in Alabama; 34 in Virginia; 32 in South Carolina; 19 in Kentucky; two in Indiana; and two in Mississippi.
"The disaster relief program applies to new self-storage and U-Box rentals and is based on availability at each store," the company said.
