MEMPHIS, Tenn. — With 36,643 MLGW customers still without power after Memphis was hit with a winter ice storm last Thursday, February 3, Shelby County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency and the City of Memphis Office of Emergency Management partnered with AT&T to provide mobile charging stations.
MLGW has asked residents for patience as they continue to work to resolve multiple power outages throughout the city.
AT&T lends support to those who are coping with the lasting effects of the winter ice storm, making sure that people are able to “stay in touch” with their families in this time of inconvenience, Chuck Thomas with AT&T said.
“We are committed to doing what we can to help Tennesseans recover from the winter storm,” Thomas said. “AT&T is proud to support our communities, friends, and families as they recover from this severe weather event.”
Citizens can charge their cell phones at Shelby County Emergency Management and Homeland Security, Benjamin Hooks Library, and Whitehaven Library on Wednesday, February 9 and Thursday, February 10. Residents can also visit any AT&T store for charging services.
