Northcentral Electric Cooperative restores all outages in Mississippi

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Northcentral Electric Cooperative said as of 5:14 a.m. Saturday, all outages have been restored. The process took 40 hours.

------------------------------------------------------------

Northcentral Electric Cooperative, based in Olive Branch, Mississippi, serves about 34,000 customers in DeSoto, Marshall, Tate, and Lafayette Counties.

Officials said they are aware of lines down in about 20 locations and at least six broken poles. DO NOT approach a downed power line. You can report outages and more to 662-895-2151. They are unable to take reports through social media.

From NEC: "As we continue to focus on restorations and debris clearing, we urge members stay away from work zones if possible and please don’t approach crews in the field. We have certain crews who are only assessing damage and determining what materials may be needed to complete that repair. These crews need to be able to clearly and quickly communicate with our warehouse and dispatchers. Other crews are assigned to conduct repairs and receive their next orders as they complete their current repair and are ready to receive new orders. Interruptions can hinder that process and pose a safety risk."

The utility will continue to update social media with the latest. Any member questions and outages should be called in to 662-895-2151.
