MEMPHIS, Tenn. — We all know weather in the Mid-South can be a little crazy at times. Some days the weather is more impactful than others. Here at ABC24, our weather team works hard to make sure you know how the weather will impact your day. That’s why we’re implementing Weather Impact.
We get more than just thunder and rain here in the Mid-South. Snow and ice storms, heatwaves, severe storms and fog. All of these weather conditions can change your entire day.
Starting July 15, 2024, the ABC24 weather team will call for Weather Impact Days when weather conditions affect you. No matter the alert, you will have a heads up for any weather that might impact you and your family.
Some days, our weather team will decide on a weather impact day for an entire 24 hours or more. That means significant weather is coming and you need to take action. Or you might see us call for a weather impact day only for a few hours during a particular day, meaning you might need to adjust some plans during that time frame.
Our weather team works hard to bring you the certified most accurate forecast, and weather impact days are an additional way for you to know what, when and how you need to prepare for significant weather.
