MEMPHIS, Tenn. — On Feb. 27, Memphis man Michael Wolfe was arrested for two murders, just a few months after being released from a 10-year-sentence in prison, according to the Memphis Police Department.

During a court hearing Feb. 29, Wolfe was ordered to be held without bond.

The two victims were identified as DeCarlos Sanders and Labarbara Bryson by MPD.

MPD was originally called on Feb. 4 to Southaven, in the 2300 block of Douglas Ave., where they first found Sanders' body, who was pronounced dead on the scene.

Two days later, on a different call, MPD responded to the same location, where they found an SUV burned. Minutes later, MPD received a call about a missing person, as the second victim, Bryson was last seen or heard of on Feb. 2.

The same day, on Feb. 6, MPD issued a City Watch as they believed Bryson was an endangered adult.

Almost three weeks later, on Feb. 25, Bryson's body was found in Bethel Grove. According to MPD, she suffered from what looked like a gunshot wound.

MPD investigators identified Wolfe as a suspect on both cases, as both the victims were last seen with him. MPD said Wolfe can be seen on surveillance video driving Bryson's car shortly before the car was seen burning.

Wolfe was arrested two days after Bryson was found, on Feb. 27. He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

MPD identified Wolfe as a repeat offender, as he was previously charged with several crimes, including aggravated robbery and using a firearm during a dangerous felony.

In 2014, he was convicted to 12 years in prison at the Tennessee Department of Corrections. He was released in September 2023 after serving 10 years.
