MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The U.S. Marshals Service said a man wanted for murder and attempted murder in Memphis has been captured in Texas.
Devin Trust, 21, faces two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder. He is awaiting extradition back to Shelby County.
Marshals said Trust was identified as one of three suspects in a shooting in December 2024 off Riverdale Rd. in Memphis. Police said four people were shot, two of whom died from their injuries.
Investigators said the two surviving victims told them three suspects – two masked and one unmasked – had approached the victims “in illegal activity” when the shooting happened. Details on that illegal activity were not released. Investigators said the victims were able to identify Trust as one of the shooters.
A warrant was issued on March 3, 2024, and the Marshals’ Two Rivers Violent Task Force located Trust on March 7 in Cedar Park, Texas. They said he was “non-compliant” during the arrest and “non-lethal force was used.”
