Memphis Police arrest dozens of people in latest operation targeting high-crime areas, many of whom are already out of jail

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police said 34 people were arrested this weekend, 20 of them for felonies, after MPD conducted ‘Operation Code Zero’ in the Raines Station area. And as of Wednesday, June 19, 2024, many of those arrested have been released from jail on bond.

‘Operation Code Zero’ targets certain high crime precincts, increasing traffic stops and the execution of warrants.

MPD said officers conducted the operation on Friday June 14. They said more than 200 traffic stops were conducted with drugs and guns seized, and two stolen vehicles recovered.

Here’s a list of the felony arrests and who has been released:

  • Nathaniel Richardson faces drug, gun, and theft charges. He is out of jail on $50,000 bond.
  • Elizabeth Sides faces drug, theft, and gun charges. She was released on her own recognizance.
  • James Martin faces drug, theft, and gun charges. He is out of jail on $25,000 bond.
  • Marcus Reed faces drug, gun, and theft charges. He is in jail on $65,000 bond.
  • Courtney Johnson faces drug, theft, and gun charges. MPD said he also has a prior arrest for drugs. He is out of jail on $20,000 bond.
  • Major Hunt faces drugs, gun, and theft charges. He is out of jail on $50,000 bond.
  • Deeandre Herod faces drugs, theft, and gun charges. MPD said he has prior arrests for domestic assault, aggravated assault, and violating bail. He is out of jail on $5,000 bond.
  • Marquette Dockery faces drugs, theft, and gun charges. She was released on her own recognizance.
  • Joshua Sharp faces drug charges. He is in jail on $5,000 bond.
  • Trevor Randle faces drug charges. MPD said he has prior arrests for theft, evading arrest, guns, attempted burglary, and vandalism. He is in jail on $30,000 bond.
  • Cameron Fiveash faces charges of evading arrest, tampering with evidence, leaving the scene of an accident, traffic violations, reckless driving, and drugs and gun charges. He is out of jail on $35,000 bond.
  • Alexandria Moody faces drug and gun charges. She was released on her own recognizance.
  • Alexis Wright faces drug and gun charges. She was released on her own recognizance.
  • A 17-year-old male was arrested on a warrant for Violation of Probation.
  • Larry Person was arrested on a warrant for coercion of a witness/harassment. He is in jail on $50,000 bond.
  • Cliets Conner was arrested on a warrant for petition to revoke a suspended sentence. He is in jail without bond.
  • McNeil Valentine faces a theft charge. Court records show he was released on his own recognizance.
  • Ja’Corry Stuckey faces aggravated robbery, evading arrest, and theft charges. MPD said he has previous arrests for aggravated assault, evading arrest, and guns. He is in jail on $100,000 bond.

This is not the first operation MPD has done in a neighborhood in which many of those arrested were released on bond within a day or two. Memphis Police said a dozen people were arrested June 7 in 'Operation All Over Boyd' targeting crime in a South Memphis neighborhood. And according to court records, many of them were already out of jail on bond by the time MPD held a news conference about the arrests on Tuesday, June 11.
