MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are investigating another burglary at a Memphis area GameStop this week.
MPD said just after midnight on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, an officer on patrol noticed damage to the front glass door at the GameStop in the 5000 block of Park Ave. in East Memphis. Investigators said the thieves broke in by breaking the glass then unlocking the door from the inside.
According to the police report, video showed several suspects in ski masks, gloves, and hoodies break in then leave with merchandise in about four minutes.
A GameStop employee told police the suspects stole several PS5 bundles and controllers, and other items from the back room of the business.
This comes after another GameStop burglary about 1:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, when suspects broke into the store in the 6200 block of Winchester Rd. Police said video showed the suspects in all black clothing, ski masks, and gloves smashing the front door with a sledgehammer and ransacking the store. Police said at least $10,000 worth of merchandise was stolen in that burglary.
