Tennessee lifts “stay at home” executive order, with stipulations

But if you think the curve is flattening, think again, says Local 24 News anchor Richard Ransom

MEMPHIS, Tennessee —

In Monday's Ransom Note, Tennessee joined South Carolina and Georgia today, all those governors among the first in the country to lift stay at home orders.

Governor Lee was a little more cautious than the others. The state's six most populous counties stay on lock down, and he says social distancing rules stay in effect no matter where you are.

Lee is in a difficult political position. On one hand, he had right wing activists over the weekend and Monday who genuinely believe he wants to practice tyranny and violate our constitutional rights and doctors who say the shelter at home is working. We bite the bullet a little longer and the worst is behind us.

Here's the thing that bothers me. It's this graph right here. Does it look to you like we're leveling off, that we've even started to flatten the curve? Me either, because we haven't. I'm glad mayors Strickland and Harris are keeping their stay at home orders in place. I'd feel a lot better if Governor Lee had done the same.
