MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Grizzlies announced Monday the team signed forward Matthew Hurt from the Memphis Hustle to a second 10-day contract.

Hurt signed his first 10-day contract on Jan. 29, 2024, and appeared in three games for the Grizzlies, his first in the NBA. He averaged 5.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 18.7 minutes.

The 23-year-old has started all 20 of his showcase and regular season appearances with the Hustle this season. He averaged 21.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.7 blocks in 32.6 minutes while shooting 53.8 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from 3-point range.

A native of Minnesota, Hurt has played 73 games with the Hustle after going unselected out of Duke in the 2021 NBA Draft.

The moves come as injuries continue to swell in a season plagued by them. The NBA granted the Grizzlies three hardship roster exceptions after injuries to stars like Steven Adams, Ja Morant, Desmond Bane and Marcus Smart left them sidelined for extended time, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
