MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Former Memphis Tiger Jayhlon Young announced via his socials on Thursday that he has committed to Vermont.
Young entered the portal back on March 21 and his decision Thursday made it official that he will not return to Memphis.
The redshirt-junior was one of Memphis' strongest defenders and ball handlers. He appeared in 27 games and averaged 2.2 points and one rebound per game.
The Tigers finished the season 22-10 and go bounced from the second round of the AAC Tournament.
Memphis forward Jonathan Pierre, guard Carl Cherenfant and forward Ashton Hardaway remain in the portal while Memphis has picked up two big signings by way of transfer guard PJ Haggerty and transfer Dain Dainja. They also signed guard Jared Harris in November.
There's still no word on what senior forward David Jones plans to do next season with his final year of eligibility.
