Coming soon, it's MONOPOLY: Memphis Edition, mane!

Game maker Top Trumps wants Memphians to voice their opinions on what bluff city locales should be featured on the new game.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Pass go, and take a trip to Memphis, mane. Coming in spring 2025, game maker Top Trumps is bringing MONOPOLY: Memphis Edition to the world. And Memphians can have a say in which bluff city locales are featured.

City officials were joined by Mr. Monopoly to announce the new game from the Peabody Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024.

Top Trumps, under license from Hasbro, said it plans to have the new game available by early April. But they need people’s help to create the setting. Until Sept. 30, fans can send in the locations they’d like to see featured on the MONOPOLY: Memphis Edition board.

Special Memphis-themed places will replace the traditional squares like ‘Boardwalk’ and ‘Park Place,’ and the Community Chest and Chance cards will be customized for the Home of the Blues.

“We aim to ensure that MONOPOLY: Memphis Edition is an accurate portrayal of what locals love about the city, so we would love for everyone to get on board and send us recommendations of their favorites,” said Sarah Bowman, a representative at Top Trumps.

“Anything and everything is up for consideration – Elvis Presley’s Graceland, the Memphis Grizzlies, Beale Street, The Peabody, National Civil Rights Museum, Sun Studio, Shelby Farm Park, Memphis Zoo and Charlie Vergos’ Rendezvous – we want to know your favorite places to go in Memphis and feature them on the board so please get involved!” Bowman said.

To send in suggestions, just email memphis@toptrumps.com.

"MONOPOLY: Memphis Edition will bring a classic household game right to our own backyard, all while immortalizing our world-class institutions and celebrating our soulful neighborhoods," said Ted Townsend, president & CEO of the Greater Memphis Chamber.

"This will be a great way to celebrate our community and know this officially licensed Memphis Monopoly board will be a keepsake for both locals and visitors to the Home of Blues, Soul and Rock ‘n’ Roll,” said Kevin Kane, President & CEO of Memphis Tourism.
