Colgate unveils new line of organic, vegan, and gluten-free products
Colgate unveiled a new line of organic, vegan, and gluten-free products with no preservatives, artificial flavors, sweeteners, or colors. Colgate-Palmolive announced its Colgate Zero line Monday. It includes toothpaste, including one specifically for children, as well as mouthwash and toothbrushes. It appears to take aim at the same younger, more health- and eco-conscious demographic that buys from niche, smaller competitors like Tom's of Maine and Doctor Bronner's. It may also help colgate better compete with its largest competitor, Procter and Gamble, which makes crest products. P&G owns Burt's Bees Purely White and Native Toothpaste, which is a natural brand.

Jif tries to settle a great debate with a GIF peanut butter jar
It's a GIF for Jif. The popular peanut butter brand is releasing a jar featuring the name spelled with a "g" instead of a "j." It's a partnership with GIPHY, the popular GIF search engine. The jar even defines GIF, animated, looping images. It also asserts that the word should be pronounced with a hard "g," not a soft one; however, Steve Wilhite, the creator of the gif, has said it should be a soft "g." Despite Wilhite's clarification, the debate still rages over how to pronounce the word. GIF stands for graphics interchange format. The limited edition jars are on sale for ten dollars on Amazon.

Costco to ban non members from food court
If you frequent the Costco food court for cheap hot dogs and pizza but you are not a member, you aren't going to be able to do that for much longer. Costco says buying items from the food court has always required a membership, they just haven't enforced it until now. According to a sign posted inside a California store, starting in March the warehouse chain will require you have to have an active membership to visit the food court. There is no word on if the policy will apply at all locations.
