WATCH: MFD releases video of arson suspect lighting Parkway Village church on fire

The Memphis Fire Department said the fire caused $3,000 in total damages, and the arson suspect is still on the run.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Fire Department released video Tuesday showing a man deliberately setting a Parkway Village church on fire before running away, and they're asking for help finding him.

MFD said on Monday, around 7:03 a.m., the unidentified man entered Asbury Memorial Methodist Church at 2969 Mendenhall Road. He was caught on video breaking a window with a brick, pouring an unknown substance inside, and lighting it on fire. 

He ran away riding a dark-colored bike with a yellow sleeping bag attached. MFD said He has a dark beard and was wearing black clothing and a yellow beanie skull cap. 

After setting the fire, the man rode his bike off the church property and headed south on Mendenhall Road.

MFD said no one was injured in the fire, which caused $3,000 in building and property damage.
