MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Election Day is underway in the Mid-South and across the country. Folks are heading to the polls to decide several local, state, and federal races, including the race between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris for President.
Our crews saw some longer lines in Mississippi Tuesday morning, where there was no early voting, unlike Tennessee and Arkansas.
In Shelby County, the Election Commission said 257,715 people cast ballots early or by absentee. That’s less than the 326,035 who did the same in 2020, but more than the early turnout in 2008, 2012, and 2016.

The ballot in Memphis and Shelby County includes local referendums, races for the state Senate and House, and the race for President.
